Canonita Avocado Kiwi Smoothie Recipe

avocado bombSmoothies are a staple for breakfast here at the Paup farmstead, but getting the kids to drink green ones can be a challenge.  The Canonita avocado carries some great healthy fats and vitamin E to get your brain going and the Kiwi adds a big boost of vitamin C.  This Avocado Smoothie Recipe is simply amazing.  I never knew how good something green could taste! I’ve christened it “Hulk juice” for added marketing appeal.

The combination of the creamy avocado with the tartness of a kiwi and lime juice is delicious.  A hint of honey makes it sweet enough, but doesn’t add too many calories.  I am over the moon about this Avocado Smoothie Recipe. I prefer using myVitamix to whip this up instead of a traditional blender.  That way the ice cubes really blend smoothly into the mixture instead of staying chunky.

Ingredients: 

1/2 ripe avocado

2 peeled kiwi

1/8 cup lime juice plus 1 tablespoon

1/8 cup – 1/4 cup Almond milk

Honey to taste (We use local honey as much as possible)

2-3 ice cubes

Directions: 

  • Place liquid in the blender first, then add avocado, kiwi, and ice on top.
  • Cover and start on low speed, gradually increasing to high speed.
  • Blend until creamy and smooth.
  • Enjoy your Canonita Avocado goodness
